Job Description

Content Specialist

About Noonday
Noonday is a globally inspired accessories brand that takes customers to meet our artisans: everyday color paired with pieces you never have to take off. For 15 years, we've created dignified jobs for artisans in vulnerable communities through fair prices, half paid up front, and partnerships that last. Today we're growing from our direct-sales roots into an omnichannel brand spanning ecommerce, wholesale, creator-led distribution, travel, and experiences.

The Opportunity
Every Noonday piece comes with a story: a place, a material, a technique, and the artisan who made it. We're hiring a Content Specialist to tell those stories in Reels, pins, product pages, banners, and ads, with content from our Austin studio and from the creators and artisans we work with around the world.
You'll own Noonday's Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest and the organic social of our founder, Jessica Honegger. You'll also create the content behind our product pages, web banners, and paid ads. You'll report to the Brand Director, who sets creative direction. Marketing owns channel strategy and ad performance, and our Community Coordinator helps build the community behind all the comments and DM's.

What You'll Do
Tell the Noonday story on social (approx. 45%)
  • Plan and run the content calendars for Noonday's Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest and for Jessica's organic social, keeping her voice personal and distinct from the brand's. Help shape new channels as we add them, such as a possible Noonday Substack.
  • Concept, shoot, and edit Reels, stills, and stories on iPhone and camera, including styling and shooting sessions with Jessica.
  • Write captions and hooks in Noonday's voice, and pitch and run recurring series.
  • Use AI tools to multiply your output: speed up editing and resizing, brainstorm and plan content, and analyze what's working. Keep every piece human and true to Noonday, and never use AI to invent artisans, places, or product details.
  • Own our social management platform: schedule, publish, and QA every post; run the shared comment and DM inbox with our Community Coordinator; store approved photos and video; and pull performance reports.
  • Report at our weekly wins meeting on organic creative wins, ad creative wins (using Marketing's performance data), and organic social growth.
Bring artisans and Noonday Travel home (approx. 20%)
  • Gather the story from wherever it's happening, even when you can't be there. Brief Noonday Travel hosts, trip guests, local creators, and artisan partners on exactly what to capture, then collect it.
  • Coach artisan partners to capture their own work and words, and make sharing easy and respectful for them, always with consent.
  • Source and manage photographers, videographers, and creators in our artisans' countries within an approved budget.
  • Edit raw footage from the field into compelling stories, and turn one story into a series, a launch, a product page, and an ad.
  • Keep every artisan and trip asset organized, labeled, and credited, so the stories are easy to find and reuse.
Create for ecommerce, web, and ads (approx. 35%)
  • Shoot product and lifestyle content for product pages, including clean flat-lays on white and styled stacks.
  • Own Noonday's UGC: find great customer and creator content, secure permission to use it, and put it to work across social, product pages, and ads.
  • Create imagery and video for web banners with the Brand & Digital Designer.
  • Create paid social ads and cut variations for Marketing to test, then apply what performs to what you shoot next.
  • Plan shoots with shot lists and styling, and own Noonday's Dropbox archive: organize, tag, and maintain years of photo and video so the whole team can find and reuse it.
And whatever else comes up: Noonday is growing, so creative needs ebb and flow. You'll jump in on campaigns, launches, and other creative support as needed.

What We're Looking For
  • 2–4 years creating social and digital content for a consumer brand or agency.
  • A portfolio of short-form video and photography you shot and edited yourself.
  • Fluency with Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, CapCut or Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and Canva.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to produce more, plan smarter, and learn faster, without losing the human touch.
  • An eye for product, and writing that sounds human, not like a press release.
  • Cross-cultural fluency: you brief and collaborate with contractors and artisans across languages, time zones, and cultures with clarity, curiosity, and respect.
  • Comfort on camera and directing our founder, team, and creators.
  • The organization to run two accounts, a large content archive, and a steady stream of web and ad requests without being chased.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend shoots, and for travel when a story calls for it.
Bonus points: product or jewelry photography, a mirrorless or DSLR camera, or experience running social for a founder.

What Success Looks Like
First 90 days. Both calendars running on a steady cadence for eight straight weeks, an artisan series live, product, banner, and ad content delivered on time for launches, and a clear plan for organizing the Dropbox archive.
First year. Measurable growth in engagement and reach on Noonday's and Jessica's channels, and at least one artisan or trip story told across social, web, email, and ads from a single shoot.

You Might Be Our Storyteller If…
You've asked a shop owner where something was made and stayed for the whole answer. You notice the hands before the product. You believe a 15-second Reel can do what a museum placard can't.
  • Purposeful: you'll jump in and support the team even if it isn’t spelled out on your JD
  • Collaborative: you know the best story in the room usually belongs to someone else.
  • Positive: rain on shoot day? You find the shot anyway.
  • Adaptable: you can brief a creator on the other side of the world at 7 a.m. and shoot a product drop by noon.
