This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Technical Accounting based in the United States.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys solving complex U.S. GAAP challenges and shaping financial reporting in a fast-paced, PE-backed SaaS environment. In this role, you will serve as a key technical accounting authority, owning complex accounting areas such as leases, revenue-adjacent topics, equity, debt, and internally developed software. You will also play a central role in cash forecasting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities, helping ensure accuracy, transparency, and consistency across financial statements. Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will translate complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys deep technical analysis, and wants to influence both process and reporting at scale.
- Lead technical accounting research, analysis, and documentation in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including areas such as ASC 842, ASC 350, ASC 985-20, equity, debt, and purchase accounting.
- Own key balance sheet accounting areas including leases, goodwill, intangibles, equity, debt, and internally developed software, ensuring accurate capitalization and compliance.
- Partner with product, engineering, and finance teams to ensure proper tracking, classification, and capitalization of development activities.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the company’s cash forecasting model, providing insights to senior leadership and supporting strategic financial planning.
- Coordinate monthly financial reporting packages, including cash flow statements, departmental commentary, and consolidated reporting deliverables.
- Oversee cash reconciliation processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment across all cash accounts and supporting documentation.
- Serve as NetSuite accounting system lead, managing configurations, user access, controls, and compliance with ITGC requirements.
- Drive process improvements and scalability initiatives by developing robust accounting methodologies and enhancing financial reporting efficiency.
Requirements
- CPA certification required with 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience across public accounting and industry roles.
- Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards.
- Proven experience preparing technical accounting memos, financial statements, and cash flow reporting.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
- Highly collaborative approach with experience working cross-functionally across finance, product, and engineering teams.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.
