This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Manager – Software Engineering (Healthcare IT) based in the United States.

This is a senior engineering leadership role focused on building and scaling enterprise SaaS solutions within the healthcare imaging and clinical technology space. You will lead a mid-sized team of software engineers responsible for delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable applications that directly support improved patient outcomes and care delivery efficiency. The role combines technical leadership, people management, and delivery ownership, requiring a strong balance between hands-on architectural guidance and strategic execution. You will play a key role in shaping engineering practices, improving developer productivity, and driving the adoption of AI-assisted development tools across the organization. The environment is collaborative and fast-evolving, with close partnership across product, design, DevOps, and customer-facing teams. This position is ideal for a leader who thrives in complex, regulated environments and is passionate about building high-performing engineering organizations.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of 10–15 software engineers, overseeing performance, career development, hiring, onboarding, and retention.
  • Define and evolve technical direction, ensuring architectural decisions align with scalability, security, and product requirements.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of enterprise SaaS solutions through sprint planning, roadmap execution, and capacity management.
  • Promote engineering excellence through CI/CD maturity, automated testing, observability, and strong incident response practices.
  • Champion the adoption of GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to enhance developer productivity and code quality.
  • Establish best practices for secure and responsible AI usage across the software development lifecycle.
  • Partner with product, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into executable engineering plans.
  • Define and track engineering performance metrics, using data to improve delivery efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare IT regulations and enterprise security standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2 where applicable).
  • Represent the engineering organization in executive forums, planning sessions, and cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading teams of 8+ engineers in enterprise SaaS environments.
  • Strong technical background in modern software development (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, React, or Go).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, and distributed systems architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating and scaling generative AI tools within engineering workflows.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern deployment tooling.
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare IT, fintech, or similar is highly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to use engineering metrics to guide decision-making.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plans including RRSP/401(k)-style options and tax-advantaged accounts.
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and additional leave benefits to support work-life balance.
  • Extended health, dental, and paramedical coverage depending on location.
  • Tuition reimbursement and continuous learning support.
  • Employee assistance programs and wellness resources.
  • Life insurance and disability coverage.
  • Opportunity to shape AI-driven engineering practices within a leading healthcare IT environment.
