Job Description

Staff Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Designer based in United States.

This is a senior product design opportunity focused on creating intuitive, high-impact experiences for complex enterprise software.
You will work closely with customers, product leaders, engineers, and founders to understand workflows and translate them into thoughtful digital experiences.
The role combines strategic product thinking with hands-on design, from early sketches and concepts through polished, high-fidelity solutions.
You will help shape new products, improve existing workflows, evolve the design system, and advance AI-assisted design practices.
Your work will directly support organizations developing renewable energy projects and contribute to the broader transition toward a lower-carbon future.
The environment is entrepreneurial and collaborative, giving you significant ownership and the opportunity to influence product direction.
This remote U.S. role is ideal for a systems thinker who combines strong design craft with customer empathy, business awareness, and a drive to build exceptional software.

Accountabilities
  • Learn the renewable energy development and execution lifecycle by collaborating with internal teams and customers actively working on large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Partner with customers and services teams to identify important user needs, understand workflows, and determine opportunities to improve the product experience.
  • Own design initiatives from early sketches and concepts through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups.
  • Design and iterate on improvements to enterprise software while balancing usability, technical constraints, business objectives, and customer needs.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the design system and help advance AI-assisted design workflows and practices.
  • Support the translation and redesign of existing third-party tools and experiences into a cohesive internal platform.
  • Lead the design of new features and products driven by significant customer demand beyond the core platform.
  • Collaborate with product and founding teams to prioritize opportunities, develop concepts, test solutions, and iterate toward experiences that deliver measurable customer value.
  • Ensure product experiences remain consistent with the broader brand while maintaining usability and clarity.
  • Serve as a team amplifier through mentorship, knowledge sharing, constructive feedback, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of UX/UI or Product Design experience, preferably designing web-based enterprise software.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading the design and evolution of complex products based on customer feedback, research, and business needs.
  • Strong systems-level thinking, with the ability to simplify complex information architecture, taxonomies, workflows, and object-level problems into intuitive experiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong product design craft, with a consistent focus on polished, engaging, and best-in-class enterprise experiences.
  • Strong understanding of customer research and usability-driven design, with the ability to test, validate, and refine design decisions using real user insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain design decisions, trade-offs, and concepts to founders, product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to connect design decisions to customer needs and measurable business outcomes.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-directed approach, with the ability to work effectively in a resource-conscious, fast-moving environment.
  • Comfortable generating multiple viable design directions, taking feedback, and testing concepts with early customers.
  • Strong proficiency with modern design tools and AI-assisted workflows, including Figma and comparable technologies.
  • Interest in renewable energy, climate technology, or software that supports the transition to clean energy is highly valued.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment and contribute beyond individual project responsibilities.
Benefits
  • $185,000–$230,000 annual compensation range, with final compensation based on experience, expertise, interview performance, and location.
  • Remote work within the United States.
  • Competitive, regularly benchmarked compensation with annual reviews.
  • Health and retirement benefits.
  • Flexible time off.
  • Mission-driven work with meaningful impact on renewable energy deployment.
  • Regular company off-sites and opportunities for team connection.
  • Inclusive and collaborative working environment.
  • Opportunity to work on products supporting major renewable energy projects and organizations.
  • Significant ownership and influence within a growing product, engineering, and design organization.
