Position Overview

Valley Hill Country Club is seeking dependable, service-oriented individuals to join our Golf Outside Services team. This is an active, hands-on hospitality position that plays an important role in creating an exceptional experience for our members and guests.

The position involves much more than cleaning golf carts. Successful team members anticipate member needs, remain productive during slower periods, pay attention to details, and take pride in keeping the golf operation organized and prepared.

Golf or country-club experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and genuine eagerness to learn.

Requirements: Primary Responsibilities
  • Greet members and guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and storing golf bags.
  • Clean, inspect, stage, and organize golf carts according to daily operating standards.
  • Stock carts with scorecards, pencils, tees, sand bottles, and other necessary supplies.
  • Report cart damage, mechanical concerns, and safety issues to management.
  • Set up and maintain the practice tee throughout the day.
  • Retrieve, wash, and organize range balls and safely operate range equipment.
  • Maintain clean and orderly cart-staging areas, bag-storage areas, practice facilities, and workspaces.
  • Assist with tournament and outing setup, operation, and breakdown.
  • Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Communicate with the Golf Shop and fellow team members to ensure carts, bags, and practice facilities are ready when needed.
  • Remain attentive during slower periods and take initiative to complete cleaning, restocking, and organizational tasks without repeated direction.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the golf operation and professional staff.
What We Are Looking For
  • Dependable attendance and consistent punctuality.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
  • Professional, courteous, and helpful communication.
  • Pride in completing tasks thoroughly and correctly.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and respond positively to feedback.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Good judgment and attention to member and guest needs.
  • Ability to remain productive during both busy and slower portions of the day.
  • Commitment to providing a first-class member experience.
Scheduling and Physical Requirements
  • Availability for early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a typical 7–8-hour shift.
  • Ability to regularly bend, twist, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate golf carts and range equipment after training.
  • Willingness to work with approved cleaning products and supplies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of golf, golf etiquette, or country-club operations.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, athletics, landscaping, or another team-oriented work environment.

Previous golf experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to candidates who demonstrate reliability, initiative, professionalism, and an eagerness to learn.

Employee Benefits and Perks
  • Medical benefits available to qualifying full-time employees.
  • Employee meals discounted while working a scheduled shift.
  • Employee golf privileges on Mondays when the course is closed, in accordance with club policies.
  • Access to discounted golf equipment, apparel, and merchandise available through the Golf Shop.
