Job Summary:

The primary purpose of the Reliability Engineer (focused on L10/L11 execution) is to own the physical, environmental, and mechanical stress-testing validation of integrated AI rack systems. This position directly contributes by acting as the hardware's ultimate survival gatekeeper — subjecting fully assembled, 3,000+ lb liquid-cooled AI clusters to extreme accelerated testing regimes (such as thermal cycling, mechanical shock, and transit vibration simulations) to identify and eliminate hidden structural, thermal, or electrical weaknesses before mass deployment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute environmental stress and lifecycle testing under temperature, humidity, thermal cycling, and other operating conditions to evaluate product durability, identify potential failure risks, and verify compliance with reliability requirements.
  • Conduct shock, vibration, transportation, and structural stress testing to assess product durability during shipping, handling, installation, and operation, and identify mechanical weaknesses requiring design or process improvements.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of product and component failures through test data review, physical inspection, and material evaluation to identify failure mechanisms and drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate fastener torque retention, mechanical wear, and component degradation throughout reliability testing to identify potential structural risks and recommend improvements for long-term product performance and reliability.
  • Analyze reliability test data and failure trends, prepare technical reports, and verify Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) through appropriate testing to confirm that design and process changes effectively address identified reliability issues.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Experience:

  • 2+ years of Environmental Stress Testing & Lifecycle Simulation.
  • 2+ years of Shock, Transit Vibration, and Structural Stress Testing

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Frequently works in office, laboratory, testing, and manufacturing environments, requiring regular movement, equipment operation, and product inspection. The role may involve occasional bending, reaching, crouching, and handling test components or equipment, with potential exposure to vibration, temperature variations, elevated noise levels, and other testing conditions; appropriate PPE may be required.
