About Beacon Kalamazoo
Beacon Kalamazoo provides 24/7 emergency care and a Level II Trauma Center. We deliver care for serious life-threatening injuries/illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. We offer specialty care for heart/vascular disease, lung and sleep disorders, mental health conditions, and women’s health. We offer a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging, lab tests, respiratory therapy and rehabilitation therapy services.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic imaging procedures according to physician orders, departmental protocols, and professional standards.
- Prepares and positions patients appropriately while selecting accurate technical factors to produce high-quality images.
- Administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Monitors patients during imaging procedures and reports any abnormal findings or patient concerns.
- Operates and maintains imaging equipment while following established safety, quality, and infection prevention guidelines.
- Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to support quality patient care.
- Maintains accurate documentation and adheres to radiation safety and regulatory requirements as applicable to the imaging modality.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree, Technical degree, completion of an accredited imaging program, or applicable job-specific experience required.
- Current certification, registration, and/or licensure in an imaging specialty as required by the position and applicable state regulations.
- Ability to safely operate imaging equipment and provide exceptional patient care.
