The consultant is responsible for building lasting relationships with customers by providing exceptional service, addressing concerns, and ensuring a seamless sales experience. Success in this role directly contributes to the dealership's revenue growth and reputation in the competitive automotive market. Ultimately, the Automotive Sales Consultant serves as the primary liaison between the dealership and its customers, fostering trust and loyalty through dedicated support and product knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the automotive or retail industry.
  • Will consider a candidate without direct automotive sales experience or if they exhibit and or embody characteristics such as integrity, dedication, drive, desire to learn and grow, coachable, organized, well spoken, etc.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Previous experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Knowledge of automotive financing and leasing options.
  • Certification in automotive sales or related professional development courses.
  • Bilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and engage customers promptly upon arrival, assessing their vehicle needs and preferences.
  • Present and demonstrate vehicle features, benefits, and financing options tailored to each customer.
  • Manage the sales process from initial inquiry through to closing, ensuring all paperwork and compliance requirements are accurately completed.
  • Follow up with prospective and existing customers to nurture relationships and encourage repeat business.
  • Overcome customer objections by actively listening, addressing concerns, and providing clear, honest information.
  • Maintain showroom cleanliness and organization to create an inviting and professional environment.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and management to meet and exceed monthly sales targets.
  • Stay informed about current automotive industry trends, new vehicle models, and dealership promotions.

Skills:

Resilience and dedication are essential for navigating the challenges of sales cycles and maintaining motivation during slower periods. Time management skills enable the consultant to efficiently balance customer interactions, follow-ups, and administrative tasks throughout the day. Cleanliness and organization contribute to a professional showroom atmosphere that positively influences customer perceptions. Follow-up skills are critical for building trust and converting leads into sales by maintaining consistent communication. Overcoming objections and active listening are used daily to understand customer concerns deeply and provide tailored solutions that facilitate successful sales outcomes.
