Job Description
The Maintenance Assistant will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, mechanical and other building systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include painting, repairing doors and other building fixtures, minor repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and ground upkeep such as plowing and/or salting the parking lot.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to Manager.
- Comply with all safety and health regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prefer 2+ years of experience.
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.
- May be required to work outside of normal work hours. May be required to work inside and outside of buildings in various temperatures.

Starting Salary: $25-$35/hour or higher depending on experience.
