This role is focused on building and expanding strategic and referral partnerships that directly contribute to revenue growth.
You will identify new partners, develop trusted relationships, and close financing opportunities ranging from $100K to $3M+.
The position combines consultative sales, business development, financial analysis, and relationship management.
You will have significant ownership of the partnership lifecycle, from prospecting and qualification through due diligence and transaction closing.
Working closely with leadership, underwriting, marketing, and customer success, you will help shape products and initiatives that strengthen the partner experience.
The role is well suited to a commercially driven “hunter” who thrives on autonomy, creative outreach, and measurable results.
You will also represent the organization at industry events and build a strong presence across the U.S. partner ecosystem.
- Acquire new strategic and referral partners and their clients by originating and closing Junior Debt financing facilities ranging from $100K to $3M+.
- Identify and develop new partnerships and strategic alliances through networking, industry research, events, A/B testing, and creative outbound campaigns.
- Manage inbound partnership opportunities, qualifying prospects and conducting appropriate due diligence.
- Build, maintain, and expand trusted relationships across an established partner network.
- Actively participate in conferences, industry events, forums, and sales meetings to strengthen market reach and generate new opportunities.
- Self-generate a consistent pipeline of partnership and financing opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship development.
- Work closely with senior leadership to evolve capital products, partnership strategies, and business processes.
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to execute strategic initiatives and deliver strong partner and customer outcomes.
- Use financial information and business insights to understand partner and client needs and identify appropriate financing opportunities.
- Maintain a partner-first approach throughout the sales cycle, balancing commercial objectives with long-term relationship value.
- Travel to relevant markets, industry events, and sales meetings as needed, typically representing approximately 15–30% of the role.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, strategic partnerships, financial services, commercial lending, or a related field.
- Existing relationships or a network of referral partners within financial services or commercial lending is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to independently generate pipeline, develop relationships, and close transactions; a strong “hunter” mentality is essential.
- Strong financial literacy, including the ability to interpret financial statements and use financial information to support commercial decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, analytical thinking, and relationship-building skills.
- A consultative, partner-first approach focused on creating mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize opportunities in a fast-moving commercial environment.
- High level of independence, accountability, and organization, with the ability to manage multiple priorities without extensive supervision.
- Comfortable establishing and developing relationships remotely through video calls, phone, email, and other digital channels.
- Humble, collaborative, and growth-oriented mindset, with a willingness to share feedback and contribute to team development.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 15–30% for markets, events, and sales meetings.
