Job Description
Texas Hydraulics, Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position performs GMAW (MIG) welding on hydraulic components and assemblies in accordance with engineering specifications, welding procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate has hands-on MIG welding experience, understands proper welding techniques and machine setup, and takes pride in producing strong, consistent, high-quality welds.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform GMAW (MIG) welding on production parts and assemblies.
Set up and adjust welding equipment, including wire type and diameter, amperage, voltage, wire feed speed, and pulse settings, according to welding procedures and production documentation.
Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions using proper welding techniques.
Maintain appropriate travel speed, arc length, torch angle, and movement to achieve required fusion, penetration, and bead profile.
Inspect completed welds for bead size, appearance, fusion, and other required quality characteristics.
Prepare parts and weld joints by cleaning, degreasing, wire wheeling, grooving, or scarfing surfaces as required.
Position, fit, clamp, and tack workpieces using jigs and fixtures.
Properly tie in weld-pass and bead starts and stops.
Preheat production parts to specified temperatures using a hand torch when required by welding procedures.
Remove excess weld material, slag, and spatter and perform weld repairs as needed.
Follow established welding procedures, production documentation, quality requirements, and safety practices.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and high ethical standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
At least six months of welding experience or formal welding training; one year of related manufacturing or welding experience preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with GMAW (MIG) welding.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment 1G (Flat) 1-inch groove GMAW (MIG) welder qualification plate test.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, welding procedures, safety requirements, and production documentation.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to recognize acceptable weld quality and identify weld defects.
Ability to safely operate welding equipment and related hand and power tools.
This position works in a manufacturing environment and regularly operates near moving mechanical equipment. Employees may be exposed to welding fumes and airborne particles, high temperatures, vibration, electrical hazards, and other conditions associated with welding and industrial manufacturing.
The work environment is typically loud, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Stand for extended periods.

Have sufficient close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision and the ability to adjust focus to safely perform welding and inspection activities.
