Shipping Clerk – 1st shift in Hendersonville, North Carolina at Friday Services

Location: Hendersonville, NC
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to join a busy warehouse and manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for preparing outbound shipments, receiving incoming materials, maintaining accurate shipping documentation, and supporting overall warehouse inventory flow.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working with deadlines, and has prior shipping experience.

• Prepare daily shipments including bills of lading, packing lists, labels, and freight documentation

• Receive and accurately enter incoming materials and finished goods into the Syspro system

• Verify shipments against purchase orders, sales orders, packing slips, and other documentation

• Coordinate carrier pickups including small parcel, LTL, truckload, domestic, and export shipments

• Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment to safely load, unload, stage, and move materials

• Assist with cycle counts, inventory updates, and resolving inventory discrepancies

• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records and documentation

• Communicate with Customer Service, Quality, Manufacturing, and carriers regarding shipments and scheduling

• Keep shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe

• Provide warehouse support during busy periods, employee absences, or increased workload

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous shipping experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment

• Previous forklift experience preferred but not required

• Experience with shipping documents, packing lists, bills of lading, labels, and freight paperwork

• Computer experience with ERP, inventory, shipping/receiving software, and Microsoft Excel

• Experience using barcode scanners

• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently under deadlines

• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with both warehouse and office teams

• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English

• Basic math skills for accurately calculating weights, quantities, pallets, boxes, and shipment details

• Ability to safely operate a forklift throughout the shift

• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work in a constantly moving warehouse environment

• Comfortable working in hot, cold, and noisy conditions

Required PPE: Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and high-visibility vest when on the warehouse or manufacturing floor.
