JOB TITLE: Service Technician – FAST (Flexible Automation System Technology)
CATEGORY: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: FAST Program Manager / Field Services Manager
WORK MODEL: In-Person
COMPENSATION: $23–$27 per hour (Based on experience)
WORK LOCATION: Sterling Heights or Novi
POSITION SUMMARY: AtomTech is seeking a motivated and hands-on Service Technician to support our FAST (Flexible Automation System Technology) program. This role will focus on the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and support of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) and AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) systems, as well as general service technician responsibilities across automation projects. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, the ability to work in dynamic project environments and a commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction. The Service Technician will work closely with engineering, project management and field service teams to ensure successful system deployment and ongoing support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
- Flexible schedule availability (including overtime and weekends as needed)
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Eagerness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Experience in automation systems
- Experience with AGV and/or AMR technologies
- CAD experience
- Mechanical, electrical or robotics experience
AGV / AMR Installation & Support (Primary)
- Assist with installation, commissioning and startup of AGV and AMR systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on automation equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and basic control system issues
- Support system testing, validation and performance optimization
- Assist with layout adjustments, route mapping and basic system configuration
- Document service activities, findings and corrective actions
- Respond to service calls and support customer sites as needed
- Perform diagnostics and root cause analysis on equipment failures
- Replace components including motors, sensors, batteries, wiring and control hardware
- Support retrofits, upgrades and system modifications
- Maintain tools, service equipment and work vehicles in safe working order
- Complete service reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Assist engineering with field feedback and system improvements
- Support inventory tracking of parts and materials
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces on job sites and in-house
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers
- Provide clear updates regarding job status, delays or technical concerns
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Maintain professionalism in all customer-facing interactions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, occasional handling of loads up to 100 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on equipment for extended periods
- Comfortable working in warehouse, manufacturing and industrial environments with noise, dust, temperature changes and uneven surfaces
- Full manual dexterity for tool and equipment operation; ability to work in tight or elevated spaces
- Must be able to successfully pass an 11-panel pre-hire drug screening
