Job Description
Diesel Technician I performs routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements and engine tune-ups. Diagnoses, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on trucks and trailers, including breaks, transmissions and suspension systems.
All duties must be carried out in accordance with established standards, company policies, and procedures, while maintaining regular and punctual attendance. Availability to work outside standard business hours may be required.
- Ensure all services meet quality standards and comply with safety procedures.
- Maintain focus and efficiently complete tasks or projects.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, both large and small.
- Follow instructions accurately and retain knowledge for future application.
- Utilize basic computer skills within company systems.
- Identify and resolve problems effectively.
- Document detailed; written records of work performed.
- Perform duties under direct or indirect supervision.

Requirements:Education/Experience
- High School Diploma
Language Ability
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability
- Ability to add, subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
- Working knowledge of computers is preferred.
