This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic and execution-focused professional to lead the launch and implementation of innovative virtual power plant programs in a rapidly evolving clean energy environment. In this role, you will oversee complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through live operations, helping scale impactful residential energy solutions across new markets and utility partnerships. You will serve as the operational bridge between technical, commercial, and client-facing teams, ensuring programs are designed, launched, and transitioned into steady-state operations successfully. The position combines program architecture, operational design, and implementation leadership within a mission-driven organization focused on transforming how energy is managed and consumed. Ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building scalable operational frameworks, this role offers significant visibility, strategic influence, and the opportunity to shape the future of distributed energy programs. You will work alongside passionate teams dedicated to creating more sustainable, efficient, and customer-centric energy experiences.
- Lead the intake, scoping, and operational design process for new virtual power plant programs from initial concept through implementation and launch.
- Develop implementation plans, success metrics, reporting frameworks, and operational readiness processes to ensure programs are scalable and measurable from day one.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution across commercial, product, engineering, technical operations, client success, and leadership teams.
- Manage program delivery across all phases including planning, testing, go-live, and steady-state handoff while maintaining visibility into dependencies, timelines, and risks.
- Create scalable implementation frameworks and repeatable operational playbooks for both standard and first-of-kind energy programs.
- Facilitate launch readiness reviews, executive summaries, risk assessments, and go/no-go decision processes for leadership stakeholders.
- Design and maintain audit-ready operational documentation including SOPs, process flows, runbooks, dashboards, and knowledge systems.
- Define post-launch health checks, tracking mechanisms, and feedback loops to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Serve as the primary internal coordination point during implementation phases, ensuring seamless communication across teams and stakeholders.
- Train internal teams on new operational processes and incorporate feedback into scalable documentation and workflow improvements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce friction, and improve automation throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Requirements:
- 4–8+ years of experience managing complex cross-functional programs or implementations within energy, utilities, B2B2C, or related industries.
- Strong program management and operational leadership capabilities with experience building scalable frameworks in ambiguous environments.
- Familiarity with virtual power plants (VPPs), distributed energy resources (DERs), demand response programs, or related energy technologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present complex operational and technical concepts clearly to leadership teams.
- Strong systems-thinking mindset with experience defining operational metrics, launch readiness criteria, reporting structures, and handoff processes.
- Proven experience developing SOPs, runbooks, launch documentation, process frameworks, and audit-ready operational standards.
- Ability to balance operational rigor with relationship management in both internal and external stakeholder environments.
- Technical fluency and confidence collaborating closely with product, engineering, and technical operations teams.
- Hands-on experience with project management and workflow tools such as Jira, Notion, or similar platforms.
- Experience with battery storage, electric vehicle programs, smart thermostat programs, utility DERMS, or OEM partnerships is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, data analytics platforms, or customer implementation environments is beneficial.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $205,000 depending on experience and location.
- Eligibility for an annual performance bonus targeted at 15% of base salary.
- Participation in long-term incentive programs tied to company growth and performance.

- 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions.
- Opportunity to work alongside passionate and mission-driven professionals focused on clean energy innovation.
- Collaborative remote culture with strong opportunities for professional growth, learning, and cross-functional impact.
- Inclusive and equitable workplace committed to diversity, accessibility, and employee wellbeing.
