Pipeyard Team Lead - Afternoon Shift in Vaughan, Ontario at Next Supply

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all duties and responsibilities are completed as per Next’s Standard Operating Procedures:

• Team Leadership: Assist the supervisor with leading a team of Warehouse Associates, providing guidance, training and performance feedback; Promote company policies and procedures, and model company values
• Operations Coordination: Allocate warehouse activities (e.g. receiving, picking, replenishment, loading, returns.); coordinate labour requests for other departments as required; effectively prepare for shift, and hand off duties to the next shift, ensuring the next shift set up for success. Assist the counters customers with pipe pick up requirements within the pipe yard area. Co-ordinate and report the correction of daily pipe yard inbound and outbound discrepancies, resolve work-related issues to maintain receiving and picking accuracy.
• MTR/CRN: Manage inbound documentation relating to MTR/CRN for purpose of recording into the database, has full understanding of the MTR/CRN pick process to be able to ensure customer orders are compliant with TSSA requirements relating to correct documentation.
• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the warehouse team, management and other departments to ensure smooth operations. Investigate problems to improve warehouse processes and provide sufficient response to customer’s requests
• Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following and promoting company policies and safety procedures and ensuring and a clean as you go mentality
• Assume Associate Role: Provide support to the warehouse team by assuming duties of warehouse associates as required to meet productivity targets and maintain team morale
• Other Duties as Assigned: As a member of the team, there may be other tasks assigned that aren’t listed above

Knowledge/Skill/Ability Requirements:

• Leadership skills and the ability to work well in a team environment, and model the character qualities listed above
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong English verbal communication skills
• Basic math functions
• Good English reading and writing skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (Combi Lift / Propane Forklift etc) safely and efficiently
• Ability to use computer software programs such as WMS system, Microsoft products etc.

Experience & Education:

• Previous warehouse and leadership experience
• High School or equivalent
• MHE Certification required or the ability to obtain within three months of employment. On-site training will be provided if required by the position

Physical Demands/ Working Conditions:

• This position involves standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods, including working outside and indoors for extended periods of time within the pipe yard area.
• Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• This position may be required to assist in any role in the warehouse as needed to meet productivity targets
• Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively
