POSITION SUMMARY

The painter is responsible for spraying surfaces of manufactured products with paint coating using an airless assisted sprayer and maintains a contamination free work area. The painter is responsible for meeting customers deadlines and ensuring the product meets or exceeds customers expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Must have common knowledge of different types of finishing equipment/ industrial painting equipment
  • The Painter MUST be medically certified and fit tested to wear a respirator per OSHA standards.
  • The ability to use appropriate measuring instrument to the task.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Must understand and follow all regulations pertaining to finishing chemicals being used.
  • Report workplace hazards associated with equipment being used, workplace injuries and/or illness and workplace near miss incidents immediately to direct supervisor.
  • Adherence to a strict schedule to ensure all customer orders are on time.
  • Must be able to finish product without defect.
  • Cleaning spray equipment and brushes with solvent and rebuild spray gun.
  • Fill out daily paint log, respirator log, paint inventory.
  • Replace paint booth filters.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any part or equipment abnormalities.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment.
  • Tag finish goods.
  • Move material and count inventory.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read gauges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Attention to detail.

The employees are frequently required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, etc. in production areas.

Due to the nature of this non-exempt position and the type of work performed, evening and weekend work may be required as business demands. The work will take place in a production environment, with exposure to seasonal climates, odor, dust, and high noise levels.
