Job Summary
Aurex is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to join our fast-paced manufacturing and development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end creation of simple tooling packages. This role requires a blend of technical design, structural analysis, and documentation to ensure our production teams have the mission-ready tools they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities

Design & Modeling: Create high-fidelity 3D models and 2D technical drawings utilizing CREO and/or CATIA software.

Requirements Development: Define and document specific requirements for each tool to ensure alignment with production needs.

Structural Analysis: Perform rigorous stress analyses using both hand calculations and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) models to ensure tool safety and durability.

Documentation: Develop comprehensive Tool Use Instructions, including proper usage protocols, inspection intervals, and maintenance requirements.

Procurement Support: Create procurement support documents, including detailed trade studies and documented analysis of available suppliers based on specific technical attributes.

Technical Reviews: Prepare professional presentation materials and present designs at formal design reviews to stakeholders and engineering leadership.
Qualifications

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CREO and/or CATIA is required.

Engineering Foundation: Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and the ability to perform structural stress analysis.

Analytical Ability: Experience with FEA software and traditional hand-calculation methods for verification.

Communication: Ability to clearly present technical concepts in design reviews and author detailed instructional documentation.

Education/Experience: BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 2+ years preferred.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - 120,000 annually.
