This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to drive large-scale impact across the K-12 education and youth development landscape by fostering collaboration among some of the nation’s most influential nonprofit organizations. The position focuses on designing and leading collective action initiatives that address complex, system-wide challenges through coordinated, action-oriented partnerships. You will work closely with nonprofit CEOs, senior education leaders, and strategic partners to develop innovative programs that improve outcomes for millions of young people nationwide. This role combines strategic vision, relationship leadership, operational execution, and ecosystem building within a highly collaborative and mission-driven environment. Ideal for a seasoned practitioner with deep K-12 expertise and nonprofit leadership experience, the position provides significant visibility and influence across the education and youth development sectors. Operating in a remote-first setting with regular national engagement, this role is designed for a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic and fast-moving environments.
- Lead and oversee all collective action initiatives within the K-12 education and youth development portfolio, from concept development through execution and measurable impact assessment.
- Design and launch new multi-organizational initiatives by developing theories of action, operational plans, budgets, partnership structures, and long-term implementation strategies.
- Facilitate annual ideation and strategic planning processes with nonprofit leaders, field experts, and ecosystem stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities for collective action.
- Build strong relationships with CEOs and executive leaders across 75+ member organizations, ensuring high engagement, collaboration, satisfaction, and retention within the network.
- Coordinate and manage multiple active initiatives simultaneously, including partner alignment, staffing coordination, reporting, continuous improvement, and operational execution.
- Partner with development and fundraising leadership to identify aligned philanthropic opportunities, secure funding, and support grant management activities.
- Organize and lead annual convenings and strategic community events, including agenda development, facilitation, member engagement, and post-event evaluation.
- Foster cross-sector collaboration and identify opportunities to strengthen alignment between K-12 systems, nonprofits, youth-serving organizations, and broader ecosystem partners.
- Translate member insights and sector challenges into scalable programming and actionable strategies that improve outcomes for young people nationwide.
- 15+ years of progressive senior leadership experience with increasing organizational responsibility and demonstrated impact in education, nonprofit leadership, or related sectors.
- Deep expertise in K-12 education systems, including strong understanding of district, network, and state-level operations and policy environments.
- Significant experience operating within direct-service nonprofit organizations, with strong understanding of organizational management and field-level execution.
- Proven ability to lead and execute complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives focused on collaboration, systems change, or collective action models.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to build trust and credibility among CEOs, nonprofit executives, education leaders, and strategic partners.
- Demonstrated success in relationship building, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration within matrixed environments.
- Experience designing and scaling strategic initiatives, partnerships, or ecosystem-wide programs with measurable impact.
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to balance strategic leadership and hands-on execution in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with fundraising, philanthropy engagement, or grant development is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with national nonprofit networks, membership organizations, or intermediary organizations is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the United States.
- Competitive salary ranging from $215,000 to $235,000 annually
