Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Provide personalized banking services ensuring the highest level of quality service is provided to current and prospective clients. Provide support to the Retail Branch Manager and assist in the smooth, efficient operation of the retail branch, including overall supervision of Universal Bankers and Tellers. Develop new and expand upon existing client relationships while effectively assessing client needs and recommending appropriate bank products and services. Actively participate in community events with the Retail Branch Manager to increase the Bank’s visibility and to enhance new and existing business opportunities.

$33.34 - $38.47 hourly | $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually

SCHEDULE: Full-time, 37.50 work week; Monday – Saturday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Retail Branch Manager in leading the branch personnel in the achievement of growth, sales targets, profitability, client retention objectives and leading the branch team to meet/exceed performance goals.
  • Provide support to the Retail Branch Manager to ensure adequate coverage, efficient service and smooth branch operation. Learn all aspects of retail branch management by assisting and observing the Retail Branch Manager in the performance of essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Provide personalized banking services to current and prospective clients, consistently seeking to expand and provide the highest-level of client relationship and experience.
  • Assess client needs and recommend appropriate bank products and services.
  • Provide guidance and leadership and assist in the on-going coaching and development of all branch employees.
  • Partner with Retail Branch Manager on the overall management of branch staff. This includes but is not limited to corrective actions, recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management. Actively participate in the preparation and administering of performance evaluations.
  • Travel throughout branch network as required ensuring adequate branch coverage.
  • Open new accounts.
  • Review and maintain daily reports.
  • Partner with the Management team to complete monthly and quarterly audits: ensure branch and employees are prepared for audit.
  • Assist prospective consumer and commercial borrowers; act as main point of contact during loan underwriting process, prepare loan payoff statements and close loans.
  • Prepare account loans.
  • Actively participate in community events to increase the Bank’s visibility and garner new banking relationships.
  • Initiate and confirm wires within policy guidelines.
  • Other duties assigned by Bank management.

  • Expertise interfacing with multiple departments and personnel at various levels.
  • Working knowledge of banking software and/or ability to be trained and quickly learn. Proficient in teller system to be able to support the teller line. Working knowledge of bank products and services and/or ability to be trained and quickly learn.
  • Ability to cold call externally to garner new business and personal relationships with the Bank. First joint calling with the Retail Branch Manager and /or other Bank partners and eventually on your own. All of this is an effort to grow your branch and gain more wallet share in your marketplace.

  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED with additional coursework or training in banking.
  • 5+ years client service experience in a banking or financial institution environment.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory capacity.

    WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Working conditions are those of an “open” office environment, which can require the ability to manage some stress such as noise level from customers, employees and general office equipment, etc. Daily use of wrists, hands, and fingers: to use computer, telephone, fax, copier, coin machine and general office equipment. Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering simple to complex information from both customers and co-workers. Sitting for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours), standing and walking up to 20% of work time. Ability to bend and lift coin boxes and bags, up to approximately 30lbs. Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel within and outside of branch network.
