Host in Royal Oak, Michigan at Kruse and Muer Restaurants

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organized Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team! As the first and last impression of our restaurant, the Host/Hostess plays a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere while ensuring smooth dining room operations. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with guests, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to providing exceptional hospitality.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments to maximize dining room efficiency.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus while ensuring seating preferences and special requests are accommodated whenever possible.
• Answer phones professionally and assist guests with reservations, takeout orders, and general inquiries.
• Maintain accurate wait times and communicate updates to guests.
• Monitor table availability and work closely with managers and servers to ensure efficient table turns.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, waiting area, and menus.
• Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
• Deliver exceptional hospitality by anticipating guest needs and resolving concerns professionally or involving management when appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Previous customer service or restaurant experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
