JOB INFORMATION Job Title: FSQA Lead

Office: Sierra Custom Foods Ltd FSQA Manager



Purpose of this role:

The FSQA Lead is responsible for the verification and management of FS& QA program and functions, relate to suppliers, raw materials and finished products to achieve customer product specifications inclusive of routine microbiological testing, results analysis and investigation of RCA during deviations among the programs.


Key responsibilities including but not limited:

  • Supports the plant for GMPs, SOPs, product handling for temperatures (raw
  • materials, in process, or finished), storage, rotation, weights, shapes and other product specifications.


  • Maintains verification of the HACCP, BRC and other claim requirements.
  • Verifies of daily Operations Records including all the pre-requisite programs and Monitoring CCP’s for poultry, water thawing and other documentations.
  • Supports with investigation of CAPA’s for consumer/customer complaints and processing deviations
  • Training and development material for staff - GMPs/SOPs or new procedure or process, as required.
  • Takes appropriate action if deviation occur in any of the monitoring procedures including CCP’s
  • Communicates with Production/ Shipping/ Maintenance when deviation noticed and works to make improvements to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support HACCP Coordinator on reviewing documentation and facilitating CFIA inspectors to complete their CVS tasks or exports.
  • Working closely with the production team, warehouse staff and customers.
  • Seek opportunities for improving food safety, quality, and sanitation through close observation on the plant floor and documentation.
  • Acts as a liaison between FSQA techs/HACCP Coord for projects or new products.
  • Be willing to support FSQA techs when needed or to troubleshoot.
  • Back up of HACCP Coordinator or FSQA techs when needed.
  • Ensures that the Food Safety, Quality, Customer and Regulatory standards/requirements are met or exceeded at floor level.

    MINIMUM POSTION REQUIREMENTS
  • BSc. Degree in a food related field of study.
  • Food Science or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 year of experience in a food production environment
  • Minimum 3 years as QA
  • Computer literacy: intermediate level spreadsheets, word processing
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of safe food handling, GMPs, food plant sanitation, HACCP; GFSI (BRC/SQF), Organic, Halal
  • Ability to communicate and write effectively and professionally
  • Fluent in English
  • Organizer, able to see process A to Z
  • Thrives in a team environment

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures
