Job Description
Construction Project Manager – Multifamily
The Norfolk Companies is looking for a Project Manager to be the quarterback for our multifamily cabinetry and countertop projects, from the moment a contract is signed through final closeout. You'll manage multifamily units in your portfolio at any given time, coordinating everything from shop drawings and field verification to financial performance and installation.
If you like solving problems, thinking on your feet, and being the person a general contractor trusts to get it right, this is your role.
Why join Norfolk: Norfolk is a growing, family-run company where the leadership team knows your name and your work. We invest in our people, embrace tools that make the job easier, and give PMs real ownership over their projects instead of micromanaging every decision. If you're the kind of person who wants a seat at the table, not just a seat at a desk, we want to talk to you.
What you'll own:
- Reviewing shop drawings, coordinating submittals with Design, and verifying field conditions against approved plans
- Managing the Schedule of Values and tracking project financial health, protecting the profit margin between cost and sell price
- Building and maintaining Buildertrend schedules and documentation for every assigned project
- Serving as the primary point of contact for GCs, architects, and site superintendents
- Identifying risk early and escalating it before it becomes a real problem
- Managing change orders the right way: documented, priced, and approved before work begins
- 5+ years of project management experience in multifamily, residential construction, cabinetry, millwork, countertops, remodeling, or a closely related field
- The ability to accurately field measure and translate that into adjusted shop drawings
- Strong organizational and time-management skills — you can run several projects at once without dropping a ball
- Comfort managing schedules, budgets, and vendor relationships with minimal supervision
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Calendar)
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record — you'll be on the road to job sites regularly
It's a big plus if you have:
- Experience supplying building materials through a distribution channel
- Prior hands-on experience with cabinetry products
- Familiarity with Buildertrend, Procore, Bluebeam, or 20/20 design software
- Bilingual English/Spanish
What makes someone successful here:
- You advocate for yourself and for Norfolk.
- You make decisions. You'd rather make a good call and adjust than freeze while a project stalls
- You're comfortable in Excel. Schedule of Values and financial tracking happen there daily
- You have commercial/large-scale construction project experience (multifamily, commercial cabinetry/millwork, or similar)
