Position Summary:

The Safety Coordinator is a proactive and results-driven safety professional who support and continuously improve our safety programs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will partner closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to drive compliance, reduce risk, develop safety standards, and foster a culture of safety excellence, in compliance and adheres to Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries.


Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and support facility safety programs to ensure OSHA compliance and workplace safety.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain safety policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.
  • Create and implement new safety processes, guidance, and best practices that drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to develop engineering controls and innovative solutions that eliminate or reduce workplace hazards.
  • Conduct employee safety orientations, training programs, toolbox talks, and safety awareness initiatives.
  • Track safety metrics, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities and participate in safety committees and improvement projects.
  • Performs PPE inspections when applicable and maintain log with inspection dates
  • Performs clerical duties related to the Safety department including but not limited to completing inspection logs, training certificates, forms (disciplinary action for safety violations), etc.
  • Drafts and submits reports and work orders related to health and safety operations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.
  • Ability to influence safe behaviors and build strong working relationships.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and risk reduction.
  • Experience developing safety standards, procedures, and engineering-based solutions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Conflict resolutions skills


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, EHS, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management principles.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, safety training, and incident investigations.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • OSHA 30 and professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CHST, etc.) are a plus.


Work Environment:

Mainly work in a plant environment with some office work and meetings, as necessary.

Physical Demands:

While performing the job's essential functions, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk, use hands to handle, grasp, and reach with hands and arms. May need to occasionally stoop, kneel, or squat and move at least 30 pounds.
