Job Description

As a Cardiac Sonographer you will complete all functions necessary to perform quality echocardiograms, stress echoes, and in some location vascular studies.

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Supports patient care by performing echocardiogram procedures, educating the patient on the process and answering any questions they may have
  • Demonstrates proficiency with the use of ultrasound equipment and associated procedures.
  • Routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running efficiently.
  • Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
  • Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
  • Shows a high degree of judgment and skill in use of sonographic equipment.
  • Ensures that equipment is constantly functional and maintained for immediate use.
  • Maintains records and reports on equipment and procedures performed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • Current ARDMS or CCI or registry eligible and pass registry within one year of hire
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
  • A valid driver’s license
  • BLS or ACLS (Will need to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in the Cardiology field
  • One (1) year of experience as an ultrasound technologist.

Work Environment

This position is a clinical position.

Physical Requirements

This position requires a full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
