This field-based role plays a critical part in ensuring patients gain timely and uninterrupted access to essential therapies by removing complex reimbursement and coverage barriers. The position operates at the intersection of healthcare providers, specialty pharmacies, and payer organizations, requiring deep expertise in access and reimbursement systems. It is highly autonomous and field-oriented, with significant regional travel and direct engagement with clinical and administrative stakeholders. The role contributes directly to improving patient outcomes by accelerating therapy initiation and continuity of care. It also serves as a strategic link between field insights and internal market access, patient services, and commercial teams. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving ability, urgency, and credibility within complex healthcare environments. The environment is fast-paced, mission-driven, and highly collaborative.
This role is responsible for leading reimbursement and access strategy within an assigned territory while acting as a key field partner to healthcare providers and internal teams.
- Serve as the primary access and reimbursement expert for the territory, supporting providers, hospitals, and specialty pharmacies in navigating payer requirements
- Educate healthcare office staff and clinicians on prior authorization, appeals processes, payer policies, and specialty pharmacy workflows
- Manage complex patient access cases by coordinating across payers, pharmacies, case managers, and internal support teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with providers and institutional stakeholders to identify and resolve access barriers
- Provide field insights and reimbursement intelligence to internal market access, patient services, and commercial teams
- Support compliance by maintaining accurate documentation of all field activities, patient access updates, and CRM records
- Apply deep knowledge of pharmacy and medical benefit structures to resolve highly complex reimbursement scenarios
This position requires strong experience in reimbursement, patient access, or specialty pharmacy operations, along with the ability to operate independently in a field-based environment.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in reimbursement, patient access, or specialty pharmacy roles within biotech or pharma
- Strong understanding of commercial and government payer systems, including Medicare Part D and Medicaid
- Expertise in prior authorization, appeals processes, specialty distribution models, and pharmacy benefit structures
- Experience supporting complex therapies, preferably within neurology, CNS, or rare disease areas
- Proven success managing field-based territories and resolving high-complexity access challenges
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder influence skills
- Ability to work autonomously with urgency, integrity, and strong analytical thinking in a fast-paced environment

- Annual base salary range of 167,000 to 190,000 USD
