Physician (MD/DO)

Location: West Memphis, Arkansas
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

East Arkansas Family Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician (MD/DO) to join our team in West Memphis, Arkansas. This position provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages in a community health center setting.

The Physician is responsible for providing preventive care, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document complete medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Arkansas laws and organizational policies.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory, diagnostic, and imaging studies.
  • Provide preventive healthcare services, including wellness exams, immunizations, and age-appropriate screenings.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Comply with all organizational, state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
  • Current, unrestricted Arkansas medical license or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment.
  • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to employment.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred.
  • Current CPR and ACLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care in a community health center setting.

• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday
• Occasional Saturday coverage may be required from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• Saturday shifts are scheduled in advance and shared among clinical staff as needed
