Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of AI Professional Services based in the United States.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on building and scaling an AI-driven professional services practice from the ground up. The position blends commercial ownership, hands-on technical delivery, and strategic client engagement in a fast-evolving AI and customer experience environment. You will lead early-stage solution discovery, rapid prototyping, and production deployment of AI-powered systems, often moving from concept to demo in days. As the practice grows, you will define delivery methodologies, build and mentor a high-performing team, and establish scalable service offerings. The role requires close collaboration with sales, engineering, and product teams to ensure client needs are translated into viable, high-value AI solutions. This is a rare opportunity to shape both the technical and commercial foundations of a growing AI services organization with significant visibility and impact.
- Lead AI solution delivery from discovery to production, including rapid prototyping, client demos, and deployment of LLM-based and agentic systems tailored to business needs.
- Design and deliver scalable AI service offerings such as discovery workshops, proof-of-concept engagements, and managed AI solutions.
- Oversee transition of solutions into production environments, ensuring reliability, monitoring, cost optimization, and alignment with long-term product strategy.
- Establish responsible AI delivery standards, including data governance, model selection, security, privacy, and lifecycle management of AI systems.
- Own the professional services P&L, including revenue targets, margin performance, forecasting, and overall financial accountability.
- Partner with sales teams to scope, price, and close new AI services opportunities while identifying expansion within existing accounts.
- Build, hire, and scale a multidisciplinary AI services team, while defining delivery frameworks, best practices, and operational playbooks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to feed client insights into roadmap development and platform evolution.
- 7+ years of experience in professional services, consulting, solutions delivery, or similar roles within AI, SaaS, or data-driven environments.
- Proven commercial ownership experience, including managing revenue targets, SOWs, and professional services P&L responsibility.
- Strong hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Claude, v0, Replit) and ability to rapidly prototype and ship working solutions.
- Deep understanding of LLM application patterns, including RAG, agents, prompt engineering, tool use, and optionally fine-tuning.
- Ability to operate effectively in both technical environments (engineering collaboration) and executive-level client discussions.
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling teams in fast-paced, ambiguous, or early-stage environments.
- Strong judgment around production readiness, including scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability of AI systems.
- Exposure to enterprise software, cloud platforms, or regulated industries is a plus.
- Familiarity with MLOps, vector databases, or AI safety considerations is an advantage.
- Competitive executive-level compensation aligned with experience and leadership scope.
- Performance-based incentives tied to revenue and services growth.
- Opportunity to build and lead a new AI professional services practice from inception.
- High autonomy with direct ownership of strategy, delivery, and commercial outcomes.
- Exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies and enterprise-scale client engagements.
- Remote or hybrid flexibility depending on organizational needs.
- Strong career growth potential within a global, innovation-driven environment.
- Collaborative culture working closely with engineering, product, and commercial leadership teams.
