Job Description
This position at Sytech will primary be responsibility making local deliveries to our customers in the Spokane / Coeur d’Alene area. We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual who is willing to be a valued member of our team. This is a very unique position, and we require this individual to be flexible and willing to keep the external customers in mind at all times; while maintaining Quality of Workmanship, Safety, Accountability, and Teamwork, which is vital to our mission.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Package product for local customers
- Load truck in such a way as to eliminate damage to product and truck.
- Deliver product, off-load items using hand-truck and truck ramp, with accompanying paperwork, to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Plans, Organize and Completes and efficient deliveries to maximize routes for the day.
- Maintains excellent customer relations.
- Able to input deliveries, tracking and routing information into computer programs.
- Practice safety every step of the way.
- Maintain personal productivity and quality standards.
- Complete all required documents pertaining to delivery, pick up, truck mileage, etc.
- Must be personable in working with customers relating to delivery or pickup problems.
- Ensures that the delivery vehicles receive the basic services need to maintain them in road ready conditions. Reports larger services issues to supervisor or Maintenance department.
- Assist with other duties in the Shipping and receiving department when delivery route is completed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Physical
- Frequent rotation of head/neck, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and flexion/extension
- Frequent sitting during deliveries up to 45 minutes at one time.
- Frequent lifting using both hands/arms, typical weights 10-75 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Good manual dexterity is required for operating equipment and moving workpieces.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Adaptable to a changing work environment.
- Frequent carrying of 10-75 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs., 3-4 feet from pallet to hand truck to off load area.
- Frequent push/pulling using both hands/arms, approximately 30-100 lbs. exertion, depending on weight of load on hand truck and whether climbing stairs.
- Frequent climbing and balancing in and out of truck.
- Frequent use of feet in operation of foot pedals.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and able to pass a DOT physical. MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG AND ALCOHOL TEST (Including Marijuana)
- Able to use a forklift and hand trucks
- Able to read, write, record data, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
- Able to use computer programs, ie Microsoft Suite
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Able to work independently and exercise independent judgment in completing route.
- Constant awareness of work surroundings while driving.
- Close attention to detail.
- Safely operate vehicle to and from destinations, adhering to all traffic laws.
- Safely load and unload delivery goods.
- Maintain vehicle in clean, fueled and readiness condition.
- Familiar with surrounding area and be able to read a map/guide.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings.
Environmental Exposure
Manufacturing shipping and receiving environment. Inside truck cab, trailer, or customer location 80% of the time.
- Hazards include moving vehicles, equipment, slippery surfaces, noise, exhaust fumes and exposure to various weather conditions during delivery activities.
- Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as forklifts and carts.
- Exposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).
- Contact with metals, lubricants, and solvents
