Community Philanthropy Manager, Direct Response

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Community Philanthropy Manager, Direct Response based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of fundraising strategy, digital marketing, and donor engagement, driving high-impact integrated campaigns across multiple channels. You will lead the planning and execution of direct response initiatives that include email, direct mail, digital advertising, social media, and mobile fundraising. The position plays a key role in shaping how donors connect with mission-driven campaigns, ensuring messaging is consistent, compelling, and data-informed. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate strategic fundraising goals into coordinated, high-performing outreach efforts. The role requires both creative storytelling and strong analytical thinking to optimize donor acquisition, retention, and engagement. You will also act as the central point of contact for external fundraising vendors and agencies. The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and highly mission-oriented.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of integrated direct response fundraising campaigns across email, direct mail, digital advertising, search, mobile, and social media channels.
  • Develop segmentation strategies to improve donor targeting, engagement, and conversion using data-driven direct marketing best practices.
  • Manage end-to-end project workflows using tools such as Asana, ensuring timely delivery of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship materials.
  • Oversee relationships and coordination with external vendors, including direct marketing agencies, printers, mail houses, and data processing partners.
  • Collaborate with Individual Philanthropy, Marketing, Communications, and Development Operations teams to ensure aligned messaging and campaign consistency.
  • Analyze campaign performance and donor data to refine strategies, improve testing frameworks, and increase fundraising effectiveness.
  • Ensure accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with ethical, inclusive, and equitable fundraising practices.
Requirements:
  • 3–5+ years of experience in direct response marketing, fundraising, nonprofit development, or agency-based direct marketing.
  • Strong understanding of direct marketing principles, including A/B testing, segmentation, and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience managing integrated fundraising campaigns across digital and print channels.
  • Proficiency in email marketing tools, SMS/mobile giving platforms, and digital fundraising systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret donor data, build segments, and optimize campaign performance.
  • Experience working with CRM and fundraising platforms such as Salesforce (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to write, edit, and develop compelling fundraising content across email, SMS, and direct mail formats (HTML familiarity preferred).
  • Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $74,880 – $83,200 (exempt, full-time position)
