Job Description
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced mechanic with knowledge of both diesel and gasoline engines, particularly Ford motors and school buses. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing our fleet to ensure safety and performance standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on buses
• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, brake inspections, tire checks, etc.)
• Work on both diesel and gas-powered engines, including Ford systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a bus, truck, or heavy-duty mechanic
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines
• Experience working with Ford engines preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues efficiently
• Own tools preferred (not required, depending on candidate)
• Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
