Description:

About Us:

RunBuggy is the most technically advanced automotive logistics platform on the market. Period.

Backed by Porsche Ventures and Hearst Ventures, RunBuggy is transforming the way cars move. Our cutting-edge technology is trusted by some of the largest OEMs, captive finance companies, and automotive lenders in the world to streamline vehicle transportation at scale.

RunBuggy’s end-to-end platform connects car shippers and haulers in real time - eliminating the friction of traditional load boards and costly custom software. For shippers, RunBuggy integrates directly into existing management systems, reducing transportation costs and accelerating delivery timelines. For transporters, we offer a smarter, more profitable way to find, accept, and manage loads - all from a single app.

Since launching in 2019, RunBuggy has grown to over 190 team members, facilitated the movement of hundreds of thousands of vehicles, and attracted tens of thousands of transporters across the U.S.

We’re not just building a better logistics platform - we’re redefining the future of automotive transportation.

About the Role:

As our Commercial Counsel, you'll be the go-to attorney for commercial contracts. You'll work directly with our General Counsel and have real ownership of how RunBuggy does business. You'll draft, review, and negotiate the customer and vendor agreements that keep deals moving. You'll also run our contract management system and keep a complete, accurate record of every commitment we make.

Your work helps the company close transactions quickly on commercially sound terms, with a clear record behind each one. You'll also work alongside our General Counsel on data privacy, intellectual property, employment, litigation, and other legal matters as they come up.

If you want a high-impact, hands-on in-house role with exposure across the business, this is it.

This is a hybrid role based out of Tempe, AZ (2-3 days per week in office).

If this sounds just like you, then please read on! If you feel this is not in your wheelhouse, that is okay too! We are actively hiring outstanding professionals, so we encourage you to apply to one of our many other opportunities.

What You Will Be Doing:

Commercial Contracting:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate customer agreements (including SaaS and platform agreements, master services agreements, order forms, statements of work, and amendments); vendor and supplier agreements (including technology, software, professional services, and transportation service provider agreements); and NDAs, data processing agreements, partnership agreements, and related commercial documents.

Business Partnerships:

  • Serve as the primary legal point of contact for Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Finance on contract questions, business partnerships, and deal structure.
  • Explain legal and business risk in clear terms and escalate significant issues and non-standard terms to the General Counsel.

Contract Process & Templates:

  • Maintain RunBuggy's contract templates, clause library, and negotiation playbooks under the General Counsel's direction.
  • Manage the contract intake, review, approval, and signature process, including signature authority, and train business teams on standard positions and when to involve Legal.

Contract Management System & Records:

  • Administer RunBuggy's contract management system, including configuration, user access, workflows, and reporting. Maintain complete, accurate records of all executed agreements, track renewals, terminations, notice periods, pricing changes, and other key dates, and report on contract volume, cycle time, and other key metrics to the General Counsel and business leaders.

General Legal Support:

  • Support the General Counsel on data privacy (including contract privacy terms and customer security and privacy reviews), intellectual property (licensing, ownership, and confidentiality), employment matters in partnership with People Ops, and litigation, disputes, and claims (including working with outside counsel and coordinating document collection).
  • Provide practical guidance on other legal issues as they arise.

Cross-Functional Responsibilities:

Work with Compliance on contractual obligations, vendor due diligence, insurance requirements, and customer due-diligence responses, and promote clear ownership of contract approvals and obligations across the company.
