Senior Financial Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, takes ownership of their work, and can turn complex financial and operational data into clear business insights.

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, performance reporting, and decision support. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working with senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve financial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, including development of assumptions and financial models.
  • Analyze monthly financial and operational results, identifying key drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare insightful variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Partner closely with business leaders to provide financial guidance, challenge assumptions, and improve decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting, financial dashboards, and key performance indicators.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Proactively identify cost efficiencies, productivity opportunities, and areas for improved financial performance.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end reporting processes and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Improve and automate financial reporting, forecasting, and analytical processes.
  • Support business cases, investment decisions, pricing, profitability analysis, and other strategic initiatives as required.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities and deliver high-quality analysis within tight timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive finance or FP&A experience, ideally within a complex, multi-site, service, operational, or similarly fast-paced organization.
  • CPA designation, MBA, or progress toward a relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis of large datasets.
  • Experience with Power BI and ERP/financial planning systems is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial statements, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Must be Bilingual

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

  • Highly driven and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Naturally curious and willing to dig into the numbers to understand the underlying business drivers.
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to see the bigger business picture.
  • Proactive rather than reactive, identifying issues and opportunities before being asked.
  • Confident communicating financial insights and respectfully challenging assumptions.
  • Organized and capable of balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating across functions.
  • Focused on continuous improvement and finding better, faster, and more efficient ways of working.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means going beyond producing reports. The Senior Financial Analyst will understand what is driving the numbers, identify what the business should pay attention to, and provide recommendations that help leaders take action.

The right person will bring energy, urgency, sound financial judgment, and a strong desire to make an impact.
