This is a hands-on production position for someone who understands screen setup, press registration, ink preparation, curing, quality inspection, and print troubleshooting. The successful candidate will be able to independently identify and correct issues involving registration, ink consistency, color, curing, print quality, and equipment performance.
Experience with apparel screen printing, textile printing, automatic presses, or manual screen-printing presses is strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do- Set up and operate screen printing presses to apply designs to T-shirts, hoodies, uniforms, and other apparel or textile products.
- Prepare screens by coating, exposing, washing out, and inspecting designs for accurate print reproduction.
- Set up and register single-color and multicolor print jobs.
- Mix and match inks to achieve the required color, coverage, and consistency.
- Select appropriate inks and printing methods for cotton, poly/cotton blends, synthetic materials, canvas, vinyl, and other approved substrates.
- Monitor curing temperatures, dryer performance, ink adhesion, and finished-print durability.
- Perform test prints and make press adjustments before beginning production runs.
- Inspect finished products for misprints, registration errors, color inconsistencies, incomplete curing, and other quality issues.
- Troubleshoot print-quality, screen, ink, dryer, and equipment problems with minimal supervision.
- Clean screens, squeegees, flood bars, press components, and surrounding work areas.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance concerns or malfunctions.
- Record production quantities, spoilage, job details, and material usage accurately.
- Notify the supervisor of equipment concerns, supply shortages, or production delays.
- Work with design, production, and quality team members to meet job specifications and production deadlines.
- Follow established safety, quality, housekeeping, and production procedures.
- At least one year of hands-on screen-printing experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience setting up, registering, and operating screen-printing presses.
- Ability to independently complete press setup and troubleshoot common printing problems.
- Working knowledge of ink types, color matching, curing requirements, and print-quality standards.
- Experience printing on multiple fabrics or substrates, including cotton, blends, or synthetic materials.
- Ability to read and follow job specifications, production instructions, and artwork requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality work.
- Ability to work efficiently while managing multiple production priorities.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience operating automatic screen-printing presses, including M&R, ROQ, Workhorse, or similar equipment.
- Experience with manual presses in addition to automatic equipment.
- Knowledge of plastisol, water-based, discharge, or other specialty inks.
- Experience with screen preparation, reclaiming, coating, exposure, and washout.
- Familiarity with production batching, job tracking, spoilage reporting, and performance metrics.
- Experience working in a Lean manufacturing or continuous-improvement environment.
We are looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in print quality and finished-product appearance.
- Notices small errors before they become larger production problems.
- Can diagnose and correct printing issues without waiting for step-by-step direction.
- Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Communicates concerns early and works well with production team members.
- Can adjust to different designs, materials, inks, and production requirements.
