Field Operations & Equipment Support Technician

Position Overview

LYNCH OIL is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Operations & Equipment Support Technician to join our team. This hands-on position combines field service, equipment maintenance, warehouse operations, inventory management, fuel handling, and logistics coordination.

The successful candidate will perform daily operational duties, including fuel containment inspections, installation and maintenance of fuel dispensing equipment, inventory control, and support for both the Equipment and Operations divisions. This position requires a dependable, safety-minded individual who is mechanically inclined, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform daily fuel containment inspections to ensure compliance with company, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, install, repair, rebuild, and perform preventative maintenance on fuel dispensing equipment, including 12-volt and 115-volt fuel pumps.
  • Install, program, troubleshoot, and service electronic tank monitoring systems and related fuel equipment.
  • Perform minor mechanical and plumbing repairs associated with fueling systems and equipment.
  • Manage inventory by receiving, organizing, tracking, and maintaining equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Read, interpret, and accurately complete work orders, service reports, inspection forms, and other operational documentation.
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and logistics to support daily operations and project schedules.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members while providing timely written and verbal updates on job progress, equipment status, and inventory needs.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and service-ready condition.
  • Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and safety procedures when working around petroleum products and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of forklift operating experience required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Mechanical and/or plumbing experience preferred.
  • Experience installing or servicing fuel dispensing equipment and electronic tank monitoring systems is preferred.
  • Experience working with gasoline, diesel fuel, or petroleum equipment is preferred.
  • Hazmat experience or certification is a plus.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand work orders, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using standard units of measure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry 50 pounds or more and perform physical activities including climbing, kneeling, bending, reaching, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Schedule

  • Home office location located in Kissimmee, Florida.
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, Ten-hour daytime shifts
  • Overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required based on operational and customer needs.
  • May be required to work extended hours in the even of an emergency or National Disaster.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is performed in both field and warehouse environments and requires working outdoors throughout the year in varying weather conditions.

Employees may be exposed to:

  • Heat, humidity, rain, cold, and changing weather conditions.
  • Noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, and vibrations.
  • Electrical equipment and energy sources.
  • Gasoline, diesel fuel, lubricants, and other petroleum products.
  • Hazardous traffic conditions while working at customer locations.
  • Uneven, slippery, gravel, dirt, concrete, and other rough walking or working surfaces.

The position requires frequent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds or more, as well as climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, walking, and standing for extended periods. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
