Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Conducts select tasks and activities to design, test, implement, monitor, and maintain Century’s network, systems, and infrastructure under the guidance of the Network Team. Emphasis on supporting IT Infrastructure, new user-focused technology deployments, and ensuring that tasks are completed on time with full documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
OPERATIONS
- Adhere to established standards and best practices. Ensure that audit and security requirements are followed where directed.
- Assist with coordinating long-running projects between departments including creation of shared documentation, timelines, maintenance windows, and resource scheduling
- Maintain IT asset tagging and IT inventory database
- Ensure that server rooms and all IT storage areas are organized and secure
- Manage tasks and helpdesk tickets within Jira Service Management and Software
- Assist IT Teams with the operation of Century’s internal applications
- Create and maintain documentation for IT systems within the scope of this role
USER ADMINISTRATION
- Configure/install new hardware including employee workstations
- Administer 1st and 2nd level technical support for Century staff and internal customers.
- Provision accounts and permissions in accordance with best practices and with proper audit trails
- Support and install system/application updates on user systems
- Provide one-on-one and small group user training for new technology deployments
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION
- Assist with new system implementations
- Maintain familiarity with all critical infrastructure and networking systems in use
- Administer business application systems within the scope of the network team
- Troubleshoot systems issues to a root cause and recommend steps to resolve
- Provide department coverage for routine work
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND SKILLS:
- Academic background with the Windows networking environment. Ability to adapt and apply that knowledge to real world IT systems under the direction of the Network Team.
- Ability to competently troubleshoot desktop PCs and business applications
- Understands the importance of maintaining the systems integrity of design, logic, and data.
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.
- Proficiency in using and supporting Microsoft products.
- Self-motivated
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational and analytical skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent certification, or military experience
- At least 2 years of experience of working with Desktop Hardware configuration, Microsoft Windows 10/11, Active Directory and PowerShell, MS Office Applications (Office 365)
- Microsoft (MCP or MCSE), ITIL Foundations, A+, Network+ certifications
- At least 1 year of experience of working with Microsoft Exchange
- Academic or previous experience administering Windows Servers and Workstations
- Microsoft Azure IaaS and/or Virtualization experience preferred
- Previous troubleshooting experience with Hyper-V is preferred
- Previous SharePoint administration experience is preferred
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
- Strong written and oral communication skills
