Position Summary:

We are seeking an organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This position plays a key role in supporting employee relations, attendance management, disability management, and workforce administration.

Working closely with the Site Leader, internal managers, Human Resources colleagues, and external Labour Relations partners, the Human Resources Coordinator will support investigations, employee correspondence, attendance management initiatives, and return-to-work processes while helping the organization achieve key people and operational performance indicators.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations & Investigations
  • Coordinate and support workplace investigations in collaboration with managers, Human Resources team members, and external Labor Relations consultants.
  • Gather and organize information, documentation, and records required for investigations.
  • Maintain confidential employee files and records.
  • Assist in preparing investigation-related correspondence and follow-up documentation.
  • Attendance Management
  • Work closely with the Site Leader to support attendance management initiatives and organizational attendance goals.
  • Maintain and monitor attendance tracking systems and reports.
  • Prepare attendance-related correspondence and documentation.
  • Assist leaders in monitoring attendance trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the achievement of attendance-related KPIs and organizational objectives.
  • Disability Management & Workplace Health
  • Act as the primary coordinator for:
    • WCB claims and reporting
    • Long-Term Disability (LTD) cases
    • Modified work and return-to-work programs
    • Medical accommodation tracking and documentation
  • Liaise with employees, managers, healthcare providers, insurers, and external stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timelines and reporting requirements are met.
  • Workforce Administration
  • Manage inactive casual employee processes, including preparing and sending letters and electronic communications.
  • Prepare, maintain, and track employee correspondence.
  • Support employment status changes and workforce record maintenance.
  • Maintain HR trackers, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Ensure employee information is accurate, current, and confidential.
  • Partner with managers to provide timely HR administrative support and guidance.
  • Coordinate activities with members of the Human Resources team to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support compliance with organizational policies, collective agreements, employment legislation, and internal practices.
  • Qualifications
  • Diploma or post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Experience supporting attendance management, disability management, WCB claims, and employee relations.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience preparing professional correspondence and maintaining confidential employee records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
