Job Description

Description:

HP2 is seeking an experienced, confident, and compassionate Program Supervisor to provide frontline leadership within a youth-focused behavioral health and residential services environment.

This is not a desk-based supervisory position. The Program Supervisor is actively engaged with staff and youth—leading daily operations, coaching team members, maintaining program structure, responding to challenging situations, and helping create a safe and supportive environment where young people can thrive.

We are looking for a leader who remains calm under pressure, holds teams accountable, makes sound decisions, and understands how to balance structure with compassion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight of daily residential program operations.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and support Youth Mentors and direct-care staff.
  • Establish clear expectations and promote accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and consistency.
  • Lead shift meetings, team huddles, staff coaching, and post-incident debriefings.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing, program structure, routines, and operational readiness throughout assigned shifts.
  • Support staff in managing challenging behaviors and responding appropriately to crisis situations.
  • Promote trauma-informed, respectful, and youth-centered approaches to care.
  • Monitor the safety and well-being of youth and staff within the program.
  • Provide real-time leadership and sound decision-making during behavioral incidents or other challenging situations.
  • Collaborate with clinical professionals, program leadership, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure required documentation, incident reporting, shift communication, and operational records are completed accurately and timely.
  • Identify performance concerns and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance when appropriate.
  • Help develop staff into confident, dependable, and effective members of the youth care team.
  • Model professional boundaries, effective communication, emotional maturity, and appropriate interactions with youth.
  • Ensure program policies, safety procedures, behavioral protocols, and organizational expectations are consistently followed.
What We're Looking For

The strongest candidates are natural leaders who understand that effective supervision requires both accountability and compassion.

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Remain composed and decisive under pressure.
  • Are comfortable taking ownership and making decisions.
  • Know how to coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Can address performance concerns professionally and constructively.
  • Communicate clearly with staff, youth, families, clinicians, and leadership.
  • Understand the importance of consistency and structure when working with youth.
  • Have strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Can lead from the front rather than simply manage from a distance.
  • Have a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and adolescents.
Requirements: Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience working with youth in behavioral health, mental health, residential services, human services, education, social services, or a related environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team-lead, supervisory, coaching, or staff-development experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond professionally and effectively to behavioral incidents and crisis situations.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to successfully complete all HP2 and assignment-specific background, drug screening, credentialing, and onboarding requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Health, Education, Criminal Justice, Business/Management, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Leadership experience within a youth residential or behavioral health environment.
  • Experience with crisis intervention, behavioral management, trauma-informed care, or de-escalation.
  • Experience supervising direct-care employees or multidisciplinary teams.
