Test & Integration Engineer in Fairfax, Virginia at Xenon Innovations, Inc

The purpose of this role is to find out whether the system works before the deployed operators. You will own verification from the bench through system acceptance, and you will build the automated test infrastructure that makes regression testing a routine event rather than a heroic one.

Test planning and design

• Develop test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria traceable to system requirements
• Define test scenarios that exercise realistic conditions, including degraded and edge cases
• Coordinate verification approach with the systems engineering team

Automated test infrastructure

• Build automated test capability for RF, firmware, and software subsystems
• Develop signal injection, scenario playback, and hardware-in-the-loop test setups
• Maintain regression suites and integrate them into the build pipeline

RF and system test execution

• Configure and operate spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and other RF test equipment
• Execute integration, verification, validation, and acceptance testing across lab, land-based, and shipboard environments
• Characterize system performance and document deviations from expected behavior
• Capture and preserve data adequate for post-event root cause analysis

Defect management

• Document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution with the engineering team
• Verify fixes and prevent regression
• Report test status and risk clearly to program leadership and customers

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of test and integration on RF or embedded systems
• Hands-on proficiency with RF test equipment and measurement techniques
• Experience with test automation
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

• Familiarity with environmental and EMI/EMC qualification (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-901)
• Experience building hardware-in-the-loop test frameworks
• Background in system acceptance testing under formal government witness
• Active TS/SCI

Estimated Salary Range: $115,000-$215,000 per year
