Production Framer

Promise Robotics is pioneering Physical AI for homebuilding — a rapidly growing, venture-backed company bringing together AI, robotics, and manufacturing to help the homebuilding industry meet the growing demand for housing. Our robotic systems, built and operated inside AI-powered factories, give the industry the production capacity, consistency, and speed to build more high-quality homes than traditional methods allow. Our team spans AI researchers and roboticists to factory operators, technicians, and production teams — all building the future of homebuilding together.

We’ve recently begun production at our state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding factory in Nisku, AB. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the plant enables our group of homebuilding partners tosignificantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Edmonton, AB.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Production Framer to frame manual wall panels, floors, stairs and/or roofs. In this role you will preform a variety of tasks involving physical labor and are required to operate equipment and hand and power tools. This role also has the opportunity to be trained to become Robotic Machine Operators.
What you will do:
  • Assemble/finish pre-built wall, floor, and roof structures
  • Examine and understand specifics of blueprints and building plans to prepare project layouts to determine the dimensions and materials required for building the frame for a house
  • Measure, cut, and assemble the framing lumber needed to build residential buildings.
  • Install exterior windows and doors
  • Frame floor panels as per joist layout and framing shop drawings
  • Conduct interior work such as fitting interior doors and casings
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools such as saws, drills, nail guns, framer’s squares, and measuring tapes.
  • Provide on the job training & mentorship to other employees.
  • Maintain safety standards in the work place.
  • Follow quality control procedures.
  • Ensure that the required materials and supplies are available.
  • Participate actively in problem solving sessions, continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
What you will need to succeed:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of residential framing experience.
  • Journeyman Carpenter certification is a strong asset
  • Proficient in building codes
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software is a strong asset
  • Team work oriented.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and good communication skills.
  • Residential construction knowledge.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules.
  • Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems.
  • Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or material up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
