Merchandiser in Kent, Washington at Vehrs Distributing

Since 1983, Vehrs Distributing has been on a mission to create and deliver the finest premium wine and spirits portfolio in the Pacific Northwest. As we expand our offerings to include non-alcoholic beverages and reach more clients in the Western Washington region, we're looking for a motivated, results-driven Merchandiser.

The primary responsibility of the Sales Associate/Merchandiser is to produce retail sales by providing point-of-purchase and shelf management services. This includes regularly visiting assigned accounts to maintain the stock on the shelves, work the back stock, fill cold boxes, and build displays. The Merchandiser must represent the company in a professional manner and communicate with our customers in a positive manner. This position will primarily service South Seattle, Tukwila, Renton, West Seattle, SODO, Columbia City, and surrounding areas.

· Regularly call on assigned accounts and provide requested merchandising services.

· Discuss with Account Representative any special instructions, product promotions, new products or price changes.

· Dust and maintain store shelves by observing displays of company products, tidying store shelves and providing optimum display of products.

· Maintain inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory; observing inventory levels and communicating any low levels to the sales representative or store manager.

· Build displays.

· Reset support as needed.

· Meet direct drops when necessary.

· Deliver to accounts occasionally, as directed by the Transportation and Fleet Manager.

· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal teams.

· Attention to detail.

· Organizational skills.

· Ability to manage time and work without direct supervision.

· Wine knowledge preferred.

· Valid drivers license and ability to drive to customer locations required.

· Ability to frequently lift boxes of up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and bend to manage product on lower shelves.

· Previous merchandising experience preferred but not required.

This is a full-time hourly position that pays $22-$23/hr. The position also will receive a monthly auto allowance of $600/month.

· This position starts at 80 hours of paid vacation per year. Our tiered accrual schedule increases based on seniority, capping at 160 hours after six years of service.
