Shipping and Receiving Clerk in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Decade Products, L.L.C.

Role Summary:

Responsible for various tasks related to shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling. Works collaboratively to ensure order fulfillment accuracy, inventory control, and maintain a high level of safety and quality.

General Responsibilities:

• Responsible for shipping, receiving and inventory control
• Support material handling, maintaining supplies and finished goods levels in the fabrication department
• Ensure accuracy of paperwork and shipments
• Coordinate truckload and LTL pickups
• Calculate LTL freight rates and determine best mode of transportation based on pricing and delivery times
• Communicate with and provide support to Operations and Commercial groups
• Understand and practice basic First in First Out (FIFO) procedures and perform cycle counts as needed
• Maintain housekeeping standards
• Maintain packaging and other supplies
• May be expected to work outdoors in all-weather situation and assist other departments based on needs
• Expected to work overtime when needed or required and willing to work the occasional weekend
• Complete other assigned tasks by the Department Manager

Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

• One year Shipping/Receiving experience with Inventory control, material handling and cycle counting experience

• Competent computer skills with Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems
• High school diploma/GED

Preferred Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

• Experience with SAP Business 1
• Understanding of Bill of Material (BOM) requirements and processing
• 2 plus years of shipping/ receiving experience
