The Asset Management FP&A Analyst will support the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis functions for a growing multifamily real estate portfolio. This role is responsible for analyzing property-level and portfolio-level financial performance, developing financial models, assisting with annual budgets and reforecasts, and providing actionable insights to senior management. The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis skills with a deep understanding of multifamily operations and real estate investment fundamentals.

What You’ll Do…

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and capital expenditure budgets across the multifamily portfolio.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts for revenue, expenses, NOI, cash flow, and capital projects.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual variances and identify key drivers impacting performance.
  • Support long-range strategic planning and portfolio growth initiatives.

Portfolio & Property Performance Analysis

  • Monitor and analyze property-level operating performance, including occupancy, lease trade-outs, rent growth, concessions, delinquency, turnover, and operating expenses.
  • Prepare recurring financial and operational reporting packages for executive leadership, asset management, and investors.
  • Evaluate portfolio trends and provide recommendations to improve operating performance and profitability.

Innovation, Analytics & Project Management

  • Serve as a project manager for strategic initiatives focused on operational efficiency, data analytics, technology adoption, and business process improvement across the multifamily platform.
  • Partner with Operations, Asset Management, Accounting, Revenue Management, and IT teams to identify opportunities for automation, reporting enhancements, and data-driven decision making.
  • Lead cross-functional projects from planning through implementation, including timeline management, stakeholder coordination, risk identification, and progress reporting.
  • Assist in evaluating business strategies and operational initiatives through financial analysis.
  • Support the evaluation, selection, and deployment of new technology solutions, reporting platforms, and business intelligence tools.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPI scorecards, and analytical reporting to improve visibility into portfolio performance and operational trends.

Reporting & Systems

  • Maintain forecasting, budgeting, and reporting models within Excel and FP&A systems.
  • Collaborate with accounting, asset management, operations, and acquisitions teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Improve reporting processes through automation, dashboard development, and data analytics.
  • Ensure data integrity across property management, accounting, and business intelligence platforms.

Investor & Executive Reporting

  • Assist with preparation of lender, ownership, and investor reporting packages.
  • Support quarterly and annual business reviews with financial analysis and market insights.
  • Prepare presentations and materials for senior leadership.
Requirements:

What You Need to Succeed…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, real estate finance, asset management, or investment analysis.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and advanced formulas.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in multifamily real estate, commercial real estate, REITs, or real estate private equity is preferred.
  • Familiarity with property management, accounting systems, and project management software is preferred.
  • Pass criminal background screening prior to employment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and up-to-date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportation is required.
