POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Supervisor leads and oversees the patient care for multi-sites of the Practice by clinically and professionally setting the standard, by coordinating the multidisciplinary care of patients and by managing workflows.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Supervision
- Provide strategic as well as day-to-day management over clinical patient experience including patient flow, procedures to improve clinic efficiency, and management of team schedules, etc.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the Patient Access team to ensure seamless operations.
- Facilitate communication with the Clinical team and Providers to provide a family friendly experience.
- Resolve clinical concerns from parents/guardians with empathy and professionalism.
- Take an active part in the delivery of care.
- Ensure that appropriate, accurate and concise records are maintained at all times (including patient records, mandatory staff training records, planned/unplanned leave, etc.)
- Respond promptly to comments, complaints or issues raised by patients or families, escalating to Practice Manages as appropriate.
- Assist with the implementation of evidence-based standards and guidelines for practice; participate in developing, implementing, and regularly revising the Safety/OSHA standards.
- Oversight over multiple locations to maintain and manage inventory of all clinical supplies and vaccines (state and private).
- Manage and maintain clinical budget understanding inventory and clinical supply costs as well as personnel costs (i.e., overtime, staffing, etc.)
- Responsible to monitor clinical workflow, policies and procedures to ensure compliance and address any variances for improvement / training opportunities.
- Keep up to date with changing policies, practices, and innovations within clinical and pediatrics, and contribute to, and be supportive of, on-going professional and service developments at the Practice.
- Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership, demonstrating clinical competence and expertise in pediatric care, display a sound knowledge of symptom management at all times.
- Be familiar with, and ensure all clinical staff is familiar with, and adhere to Practice policies/procedures and guidelines; provide coaching / training as appropriate.
- Oversee the VFC (Vaccine for Children) program, including but not limited to; ordering of vaccines, appropriate storage and handling of vaccines, accurate documentation of inventory in EHR, reporting, and ensuring staff is appropriately trained.
- Oversees the functions of the lab including but not limited to; phlebotomy practices, equipment quality checks, and sterilization to ensure efficient and safe patient care practices.
- Maintain a high standard of work performance, attendance, appearance, and punctuality.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with legal and professional requirements in clinical practice and documentation
- Maintain strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Adhere and exemplify safe work practices according to OSHA and Practice policies, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrate dedication to the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization.
- Regular and reliable attendance including attending monthly staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirement
- Medical Assistant Certification, LPN or Compatible Clinical Credential
- At least 5 years of experience in a pediatric or ambulatory care setting
- At least 2 years of lead, supervisory , or team leadership experience
