This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Java Fullstack Developer based in the United States.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of large-scale distributed systems that power high-performance digital products. You will work across the full technology stack, building scalable backend services in Java and Spring Boot while developing responsive frontend applications using modern frameworks. This position operates in a fast-paced, agile environment where engineering excellence, scalability, and reliability are top priorities. You will play a key role in architecting microservices-based solutions, optimizing system performance, and ensuring seamless integration across complex cloud-native environments. The role also offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies including Kafka, Kubernetes, and GenAI tools. Ideal for a seasoned engineer, this position combines hands-on development with collaboration across global teams and opportunities to mentor others while driving innovation at scale.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Build and support microservices-based architectures and event-driven systems leveraging Kafka and other messaging technologies.
  • Develop and optimize distributed systems with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and high availability.
  • Implement cloud-based solutions, preferably in Azure environments, ensuring secure and efficient deployment architectures.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development using tools such as GitHub Actions and other enterprise DevOps frameworks.
  • Participate in system design discussions, applying best practices, design patterns, and engineering standards.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while adhering to coding standards and development guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with QA engineers to support testing, debugging, and production issue resolution.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver features within sprint timelines aligned with product priorities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
  • Actively leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, GenAI platforms) to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
  • Support automation efforts and contribute to test coverage improvements where needed.
Requirements
  • 9+ years of experience in large-scale distributed system development with strong operational and production experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend technologies (AngularJS/Angular or ReactJS).
  • Strong experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems using Kafka.
  • 3+ years of experience working with NoSQL databases, Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • 2+ years of experience in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions or equivalent DevOps platforms.
  • Experience building scalable, high-performance systems with strong understanding of distributed architecture and trade-offs.
  • Exposure to system design, design patterns, and service-oriented architecture principles.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with AI/GenAI tools such as Agentic AI or chatbot technologies.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with global engineering and QA teams.
  • Ability to work in Agile environments and deliver within tight timelines.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly compensation aligned with experience and location ($40–$42/hr W2 range noted).
  • Remote contract opportunity within the United States.
  • Option to elect healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Paid sick leave and eligibility for major holidays in accordance with state law.
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact distributed systems.
  • Exposure to modern cloud-native technologies, AI tools, and enterprise engineering practices.
  • Collaborative, innovation-driven engineering culture.
  • Professional growth through mentorship, technical leadership, and complex system design work.
  • Access to industry-standard GenAI tools to enhance productivity and development workflows.
