Job Description

Canduct Industries is a leading manufacturer in electrical insulation, primarily used for cooling for oil cooled transformers. We are looking for an Buyer/Planner in London, ON to purchase/ plan materials to support production and implement continuous improvement actions to improve material control and cost-effective management of inventory.

Working Conditions:

7:00AM to 4:00PM Monday to Friday
This position will be 100% on site at our facility in London, ON.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate production/ inventory of “stockables” – customer ordered components that are produced in house.
  • Order and track incoming shipments for moulded / purchase parts
  • Produce weekly report for all incoming POs and validate data
  • Follow up with suppliers to expedite completion of orders/ shipments/ acknowledgements as required.
  • Provide materials to Production with on time delivery, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Order plant supplies/ consumables, all domestic non pressboard/ paper raw materials
  • Monitor and adjust system transactions to support inventory accuracy in Visual
  • Provide coverage for Supply Chain Manager absences
  • Support planning and execution of monthly/ year-end inventory counts
  • Contribute to planning of cost-effective transportation plan for domestic and overseas shipments.
  • Implement continuous improvement projects to reduce inventory levels.
  • Perform stock checks as required.
  • Update master data in Visual for materials and suppliers as required.
  • Back up to Shipping/ Packaging Lead.
  • Ensure output meets quality standards.
  • Ensure all health and safety precautions are taken, policies are followed and enforced.
  • Assisted with other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ year of experience in a similar role
  • Post-Secondary Education
  • Ability to gather / analyze data.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter - proactive
  • Experience with multi level bills of material, is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes is an asset.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Good English written & verbal communication skills.
  • Great attendance is a critical requirement.
