Lactation Consultant at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Education:

Associates or Bachelors in Nursing required. Previous maternal-child health nursing preferred.

Certification & Licensures:

Registered Nurse required

Additional Certification Details:

Currently certified as a Lactation Consultant by the IBLCE or working toward certification and has obtained CRMC Lactation Educator Status.

Experience:

1 to 3 years RN experienced required.

Additional Experience Requirements:

Experience in acute care nursing preferred. Previous maternal-child health nursing preferred. Ability to lead, organize, manage, and develop a lactation program, ability to assist mothers with breastfeeding skills, and the ability to work with all levels of health care providers.
Labor & Delivery/Post Partum/Nursery:
1. Previous Obstetrics experience.
2 Adheres to guidelines of closed unit policies.
3. Certification for Lactation Consultant required
4. Assist or Teach Baby Care/Breast Feeding Classes
