As a growing organization, we are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Facility Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our facilities. This individual will ensure our pharmacy infrastructure supports operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a safe environment for patients and staff.
Position Summary
The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, compliance, and efficient operation of Southend Pharmacy’s facilities. This role ensures adherence to healthcare, pharmaceutical, and safety regulations while managing preventive and corrective maintenance, vendor contracts, and facility improvement projects. The Facility Manager will play a critical role in sustaining a safe, compliant, and cost-effective pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day facility operations, building systems, and equipment maintenance.
Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure compliance with USP <797>, <800>, OSHA, DEA, and all applicable state/local regulations.
Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, refrigeration, cleanrooms, and pharmacy equipment.
Coordinate service with vendors, and manage inspection schedules.
Track work orders, maintenance schedules, and compliance records.
Monitor safety, security, and emergency preparedness plans across the facility.
Lead and coordinate facility projects including upgrades, expansions, and renovations.
Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to ensure facilities support operational and patient care needs.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; OR equivalent work experience in Facility Management.
Minimum 1-2 years of facility management experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or a regulated industry.
Minimum 1-2 years of proven experience managing vendors, and service providers.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing pharmacy, biotech, or healthcare facilities.
Familiarity with project management tools and lean process improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
Proficiency with Google Sheets and Google Docs.
Strong leadership abilities to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
