Job Description:
The School of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences (SMRS) at Bellarmine University
invites applications from qualified candidates for a 9-month faculty position, tenure track eligible at the Assistant/Associate Professor Level. This is a joint position within the Sports Administration and Exercise Science Programs and will report directly to the Program Director of Sports Administration. The School of Movement and Rehabilitation Science is comprised of two undergraduate programs, Sports Administration and Exercise Science, and a graduate Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. The SMRS has a diverse team of experienced core faculty, adjunct clinical faculty, and a highly supportive and dedicated administrative staff. Successful candidates will support the University's vision and mission, commitment to service and hospitality, and the intellectual, ethical, and moral development of all students.
Position Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate courses in both Exercise Science (e.g., exercise physiology, basic injury prevention and care) and Sports Administration (e.g., sport management-related courses, internship coordination).
- Advise and mentor students across both programs, supporting academic success and career preparation.
- Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to academic rank.
- Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and departmental service.
- Foster partnerships with community organizations and professional networks in sport and health-related industries.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
- A terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in Exercise Science/Kinesiology, Sport Management, or a closely related field. ABD candidates may be considered with expected completion by the start date.
- Demonstrated experience or strong potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
- Evidence of scholarly productivity or a defined research agenda.
- Ability to integrate real-world applications and experiential learning into the classroom.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interdisciplinary experience or interest in bridging science and administration in sport and health contexts.
- Previous experience in academic advising or student mentorship.
- Industry or professional experience in sport management, athletic training, fitness, or coaching is highly valued.
