About This Position
Central City Brewers and Distillers is a craft brewery in the business of developing and selling international award-winning premium craft beer and high-quality distilled spirits brewed without compromise. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, CCBD was voted Canada Best Brewery of the Year in 2010 and 2012. Its Red Racer brand has become a cult icon among craft beer enthusiasts throughout North America. Founded in 2003 as a brewpub and liquor store in downtown Surrey, CCBD celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013 with the grand opening of a brand new, 68,000 sq. ft. brewery and distillery on Bridgeview Drive. In 2019 we opened a 40,000 sq. ft. storage facility with approximately 2000 barrels of whiskey ageing in this facility. We are proud of being a local-Canadian Brewery that is currently expanding. In 2021 the company completed installation of a new canning line designated for contract manufacturing.
JOB SUMMARY
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift and reach truck to load/unload production materials and finished goods from warehouse racking into a 53’ trailer and reports directly to Shipping and Receiving Department. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate a forklift / reach truck to pick orders from warehouse racking
- Load 53' trailers / 5-ton truck with pallets of product
- Unload 53' trailers / 5-ton truck of pallets of packaging materials / ingredients
- Put-away pallets of finished goods into the appropriate bin locations of the warehouse racking using pallet runner and scanner gun
- Transfer pallets of materials / finished goods between buildings using a forklift
- Organizing pallets of materials / finished goods / dunnage around the production area, the plant loading docks, and the co-packing / warehouse facility
- Physical clean-up / recycling / cardboard compacting / tidying work in and around both buildings.
- Other warehousing / shipping & receiving / co-packing duties as directed by the supervisor or shift-supervisor
- Use scanner gun to pick orders/ move orders/ transfer orders between buildings.
- Conduct regular cycle count as directed by the supervisor/ manager.
QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
- Min. 3 years’ experience operating forklifts or reach trucks in a swift yet safe manner with a clean accident / product damage record
- Min. 2 years’ experience in a warehouse environment using a WMS system, picking / putting-away / loading deliveries using guns
- Active sit-down forklift ticket
- Active narrow-aisle reach truck ticket is an asset but not require
- Scanner Gun experience
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Valid Class 1 driver's license is an asset
- Responsible, motivated, peppy, with a can-do attitude and collaborates well in a team
